REMMELE ENGINEERING ACQUIRES MAY COATING TECHNOLOGIES

Leader in custom equipment solutions acquires standard web handling and coating equipment

St. Paul, MN – (September 23, 2005) – Remmele Engineering announces the acquisition of the May Coating Technologies division of Acumeter Laboratories, located in St. Paul, MN. The May Coating Technologies line of standard web handling and coating equipment will be integrated into Remmele’s Automation Division. As part of the agreement, Remmele will work closely through a consulting agreement with one of May’s founders, Jerry Majkrzak, to provide technical expertise and knowledge transfer.

“The addition of May Coating Technologies further strengthens Remmele’s position as a leader in manufacturing solutions, where web processing is a core technology,” says Terry Johnson, Vice President and General Manager of Remmele’s Automation Division. "Remmele and May have enjoyed a relationship for many years where we have collaborated on multiple projects. Remmele offers experience in intermittent web solutions, and May offers expertise in continuous web handling and coating. We feel that this combination provides excellent synergy that we can leverage well into the future.”

May Coating Technologies was founded in 1983, and has operated as a division of Acumeter Laboratories, Inc. since 1993. Acumeter Laboratories, Inc. will retain their hot melt processing product line, and will continue to operate facilities in St. Paul, MN and Shrewsbury, MA.
